Homestay rates in Gurdum explained

Our homestay rates in Gurdum are simple: the nightly price includes every meal. A wooden A-frame cabin is ₹1,200 per night and an adventure tent is ₹1,000 per night. The homestay room rate is shared on request on WhatsApp at +91 73190 25389.

What is included in every booking

Each stay at Gurdum Backpackers Homestay includes welcome tea, breakfast, lunch, evening tea and snacks, dinner and lodging. The food is home-cooked with local organic produce and both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals are available. A personal BBQ chicken campfire is optional and charged extra.

Choosing between a cabin, a tent and a room

The wooden A-frame cabins are private and cosy, set in a flower garden with mountain views, and suit couples and small groups. The adventure tents give you the feeling of sleeping under the Himalayan sky, with a hot dinner and bonfire nearby. The homestay rooms are in the family home, where you eat with your hosts, which many families and elders find comfortable.

Good to know before you book

Meals are already part of the nightly rate. If you are trekking, you can book one night here before the walk and one after, which many Sandakphu trekkers do. Ask on WhatsApp if you are travelling in a larger group so we can plan the cabins, tents and rooms together.

Hot water and parking are available. There is no TV, pets are not allowed and check-out is at 10 AM. Bookings are open for October, November and December 2026, and peak season fills quickly, so message us early. We are 5 km from Maneybhanjan, 31 km from Darjeeling city and 97 km from NJP Junction, Siliguri.

Which stay is right for you?

If you want privacy and a flower garden outside your door, choose the wooden A-frame cabin at ₹1,200 per night. If you want to camp but still enjoy a hot home-cooked dinner and the bonfire, the adventure tent at ₹1,000 per night is the simplest choice. If you are travelling with parents or grandparents, or simply like to eat with your hosts, ask about the homestay room inside the family home.

All three options include the same meals and the same warm welcome, so the decision comes down to the kind of night you want. Cabins suit couples and small groups, tents suit adventurous travellers and trekkers, and rooms suit families who prefer the comfort of a home.

Reaching the homestay

We are 5 km from Maneybhanjan. From Darjeeling the drive is 31 km and takes about 1.5 hours, and from NJP Junction in Siliguri it is 97 km, around 4 hours. Personal hire cars and share cars are available, and if you need a pickup you can ask us on WhatsApp and we will arrange a car for you.
